    I am here feeling the same thing. I am really fed up with my period totally making me psychotic. 5 days prior to i feel like my skin is crawling 2 days before night sweats like i soaked myslf on the shower ans laid down. 3 days before i am absolutely what id call a bitch. I dont like it. Im now taking mood meds and its not making much difference. The side effects of blurry vision. The not taking no shit at all. Then emotionally unstable the day before and day of. Day 2 of period i am emotional sad and crying. I was on the depo and i still had rhese issues but not the heavy bleeding. That is also an issue i tnow take ic tranexamic 650mg 2 pills 3x daily on cycle. I bleed so much the 1st to 3rd day and im done. Post menstrual i feel normal then the rage and pissiness comes in. Would a hysterectomy help this or no? Would the ovaries need to be removed too? Then, would I have menopause? Right? So what options are there for people like us or me specifically. Ever since i first got my period at 12, its been like this. The most insane rhing yet is i vomit before i menstruate. Literally, munutes before it begins. Treatment qith my psych gave me a benzo and other meds tried to put me onnan anti psychotic uet i dont have any diagnosis other than ptsd and major depression. So its messed up how women get treated. I was on the shot for 10 years before i stopped due to family history of breast cancer. I had been a nicotine smoker for 15 years. Then a nicotine vaper for 2 years until i had back surgery. That has made my life so much worse and more difficult. I am doing breathwork and very intense work on that and the program involved with @witality. I have chiari malformation, DDD and my period and or the hormones i should say, certainly make all these symptoms worse. I have to be in bed the first 2 days and maybe day 3. Lately it went from being 3 days to 5 days. It literally has impacted my life so severely im considering a full hysterectomy as soon as i feel i can recover properly from such surgery. I cannot live like this and manage the other stuff. The neurosurgeons dont think my symtoms are coming from the chiari malformation, but treating myself like a patient and logging in patterns and when things happen it stems all around my cycle. I must handle rhis. Im 38, I cannot have anymore kids its too risky for my health and i cant bring a child into a world this messed up espexially when im as disabled as i am. Its a complete injustice to the child. So what have other women been using and has any of this treatment plan worked for anyone? Thanks for reading and if you comment thanks even more With love and light - Robyn

    Such a fascinating and comprehensive session on diagnostic factors in ADHD. I am a 54 year old woman with a recent referral for ADHD. Menopause symptoms are similar to ADHD.

    • @PsychiatrySimplified

      Thank you for your feedback. Yes, menopausal symptoms will present like ADHD. Essentially, cognition and cognitive dysfunction will have the same expression. The causes will be different. ADHD is a neuro developmental disorder whilst menopausal cognitive dysfunction is as a result of the hormonal deficits indirectly impacting on dopaminergic and noradrenergic prefrontal cortex receptor functions, the ultimate expression of cognitive difficulties will remain the same. Hence the overlap.

    Thank you for this video. I was put on Celexa 10mg by my GP several years ago and my libido and sexual function got worse and worse. Last year I was increased to 20mg as anxiety started to ramp up, not panic attacks like I had without the medication, but nearly incessant tension in my muscles, jaw, hands, and feet. After the increase to 20mg my libido has completely disappeared. Due to this and other symptoms which have robbed my life of any sense of real purpose I've stopped cold turkey last week. I know, I know, gotta taper off, don't do this... but I'm resolved to see it through as the medication has made me depressed when I ever only had anxiety prior to. Upon doing further research, I learn that you're only supposed to be on this medication for a limited period of time. That was never mentioned when I was prescribed this, nor was anything mentioned about getting off it eventually; just that if you're symptoms of anxiety have disappeared then keep going with it. I don't think GP's ought to have the ability to subscribe these meds to you, I believe I should've been forced to go through a therapist to see if they could address my anxiety through a different avenue. I was happy then to just take the pill and forget it, but I'm not thinking that was the way to go in the end. I understand a may have a tough few weeks, but I've had a tough life and can handle it. I can't handle feeling numb and that my life is just a set of rinse and repeat with very little actual joy day-to-day. I won't even get into all the side-effects I'm feeling, but they can be found online if you search, it's more than just the ones listed on the label or in a search of the drug. I'm seeking actual therapy now and will not be deterred from staying off the medication, I want my life back now that I think citalopram helped me get through my earlier struggles with anxiety! Much luck and love to everyone out there who is trying to get back to how life was before you had mental issues. And my endless heartfelt love to those of you who have struggled your entire lives with mental issues. ❤

    • @PsychiatrySimplified
      @PsychiatrySimplified 2 дня назад

      Its a mu opiod agonist plus SNRI ( antidepressant ) - not sure what you mean by stimulant ( its not stimulant in sense of similar action to Dexamphetamine or methylphenidate ) but does have NA and DA potentiation property due to the Noradrenaline reuptake inhibition. So it can be ‘ stimulating’ i.e activating.

    • @PsychiatrySimplified
      @PsychiatrySimplified 18 часов назад

      Its not that they don't have it - the nature of addiction is such that the brain changes that occur move the person towards the drug - narrowing of repertoire so that the individual becomes stuck in a cycle that involves the drug with the exclusion of other aspects. psychscenehub.com/psychinsights/the-neuroscience-of-addiction-application-to-clinical-practice/

    I was supposedly diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and was subsequently prescribed both Ritalin and Adderall. That was around the time everybody was diagnosed with such. Neither really worked because I wasn't able to sleep while taking either. Which, in my opinion, created a much more dangerous scenario. I have been self medicating ever since and have had no side effects.

      You are correct - Experiencing repeated or extreme exposure to aversive details of the traumatic event(s) (e.g., first responders collecting human remains; police officers repeatedly exposed to details of child abuse). Note: Criterion A4 does not apply to exposure through electronic media, television, movies, or pictures, unless this exposure is work related. Issue is there is likely a legal component associated as claims etc increase if criteria are broadened. This does not mean that cannot experience all the domains of trauma disorders - they just cannot be diagnosed as PTSD according to DSM.

    Well, for someone who was diagnosed at 38 years old in the year 2000 with a AHDH, CDO, and DyxLyxia… and a large portion of LOL, I can assure you that when taken as a medical prescription, it’s beyond wonderful! Back then I started off with methylphenidate and the doses got gradually higher until it’s no longer effective. Then started on the Adderall and the same thing happened. I had to take a few months off to start on the methylphenidate again. From 2007 I went organic and did not use any prescriptions. After selling my house, I looked at my bill for storage at U-Haul that was $12,500. The moment I lifted the door to my 10 x 20 space that was packed to the ceiling, I knew I couldn’t do it without medication, it was 2020 when the pandemic hit that I was on my first month of Zanetti. I had lost my provider because they had sold and was without the drug for nearly a month. My new med prescriber/therapist wondered why I wanted to start back on the methylphenidate, because no one had ever requested that before. I told him I know how this works and I want to get a good six years out of it, however, because of the pandemic when it was time for me to take Adderall, I had to go directly to the Zanetti. The last three months have been hell because it was not working well at all, and two weeks ago I got a prescription for Adderall, and it didn’t do diddly squat! today was the first day I tried a 50 mg generic Vyvanse… Wow! I have never had a more steady feeling of concentration, and it’s the first extended release that doesn’t make my gut have a surging feeling. So, I hope to get another two years out of this, but then I’ll know that I will need to take at least a two or three month break to let my body recover. I will feel like $#!T for the first month, but that’s just how it works. Thank you for this informative video. I hate to admit I’ve tried it before, and it is the biggest mindfcuk in the world, and I feel grateful that I am so strong that I would never let a drug overtake my life. I’m way too selfish to allow a drug to take my life away. Methamphetamine from the street is the Devils drug, and Satan is having a hay day in today’s meth world!

    I'm one of the people who have never felt right in their own skin, and also have ADHD! For that reason have used something most of my life to confront this issue! I'm 58, have been using meth for 30 plus years! I've been married for almost 30 years, raised 2 wonderful daughters, own my own house, and retired from the Laborers Union at 52, and I'm also a honorably discharged veteran! Not to many people know I use meth, not even my wife! I take care of myself, doctor regularly, sleep every night and l lead what I would call a pretty normal life! I can do a couple lines and go to the doctors right after and my blood pressure most times will be perfect! It has helped me lead a more normal life then it could have without it! My only worry sometimes is what it's doing to me on the inside! So far so good! I guess I'll find out as I grow older. Thanks for the video, it was very interesting!
